Write Debate Notes and participate in a Structured Debate. The tone of your notes and spoken language should be intended for an academic audience. The aim of this assessment is to construct, present and defend an argument in speech and writing on a hypothetical or real-world issue.
MOTION: A lack of interaction and exposure to one’s culture can lead to a cultural disconnect

Structure of Debate Notes:
 
Cover page (excluded from the word count) 
The cover page should include the motion of your debate. 
 
Notes  
 
Two supporting arguments for the Affirmative (200 words approx.) 
Two anticipated counterarguments for the opposite team’s case (200 words approx.) 
Two appropriate rebuttals (linked to counterargument) (200 words approx.) 
 
 
References (excluded from the word count) 
In this section, you should include a list of all the sources you have referred to in your Notes.
Please use 5-7 relevant sources, and PLEASE use in-text citations.
Try and use academic sources more than unacademic ones.
Word count should be 540-660 words, not more or less.
